Description

I've been kinda sad since yesterday after finding out Satoru Iwata died - I'll admit I actually was not aware of just how much he'd done in the gaming industry until now, and finding out he worked on most of my favorite games really had an impact on me.

Just one example is Pokemon - I've long hailed the Johto games as my favorites in the series, and a huge contributor to that is the fact that they're practically a two-in-one game.  Not only was I able to explore all new sights in Johto (and I LOVE Johto locations) I was also able to go back to Kanto and see the places familiar to me from my days playing Yellow, my first Pokemon game.  And I have Iwata to thank for that, because the development team thought including a second region would be impossible - but Iwata found a way to compress the game to less than half its original size so Kanto could be included.
He also worked on several Zelda games, which is one of my all-time favorite franchises.

So, while I only got to flat colors for this piece today, I wanted to post it.  I'll never forget how fun playing Crystal version was back when I first got it - being able to play as a girl for the first time, staying up late to catch the night Pokemon, chasing Suicune with Eusine, exploring Kanto, riding the bullet train, watching Silver slowly become a better person, battling Red on Mt. Silver...  I have so many good memories from this game.

So thank you, Iwata-san.  Your adventure is only beginning.

I'm so glad someone actually made something with Kris in memorial of Satoru Iwata. I feel the same way.

For the art itself, it looks great and I can't wait to see it finished!
