Secret Santa for Alasmay as part of the Secret Santa event!  Two of their favorite characters are Felix and Matthew, one of their favorite locations is Venus Lighthouse, and one of their favorite ships is Felix with Sheba, aka Lighthouseshipping - and I'm super happy that I managed to work all of these things in using an idea I've had for a while!  I hope you like it!

I have to admit that ever since I played Dark Dawn and read the Sun Saga in that, I wondered how Felix would react to reading them himself.  He's not exactly painted in a very good light in them.  (Felix?  Saved a village from a dragon?  Really?  HIM?)  And so this idea has been sitting in my head ever since.

I'm a big fan of Felix, so of course I was sad that he never made an appearance in Dark Dawn.  I seriously don't think he's the kind of person to just vanish and leave his family behind, so...  Here's a scene I like to imagine was commonplace: Uncle Felix stopping by his sister's place to teach his nephew (proper) history.  (And yes, Felix was the one that left the little plushies kissing like that.  I love Lighthouse shipping, it's one of my OTPs.  x3)

Art wise I really had fun making this piece, too!  I like this way of shading and using subtle overlays to really add texture to stuff.  (Multiple light sources was kinda tricky to deal with but also a fun challenge!)  I actually love pretty much every element of this - though the window and lamp are my favorite background touches. ^-^

I hope to keep improving in my art like this, because I can really feel the quality jump here!

I also like to think it was Felix's advice that led Matthew to be a silent protagonist.  Because, clearly, people like you better when you don't say a word.
