Well, while I was going through stuff I found one of my old drawings from what I think was summer of 2008. I know it was drawn sometime around then, anyway...
So, I made a quick sketch of the same character in the style I have today. Her name was Jen, and I remember a few things about her. The tree and designs on her shirt in the "after" picture are some things I remember were part of my idea before that I just... decided against drawing at the time.
Back then I had a LOT of trouble making clothes look the way I saw them in my head, and I avoided complicated designs because they never looked good when I drew them. Well, if I were to use Jen today, I'd give her a better look and incorporate more of her culture into her clothing. ^^
And to those of you who think I'm good at drawing now, well... I hope you can see how hard I've had to work to get where I am. I really have come a long way in just four years... And I hope to get much better!

"One of my teachers thought I was planning to go into fashion design because of all the clothing pictures I cut out of magazines, but really it's for my characters. Lol! To be honest, all character artists have to be fashion designers to some extent, though..."
- True enough.
I haven't exactly been cutting out pictures, but I have flipped through various comics etc, and paid attention to how things were drawn, and taken influences from there. Apparently, it's paid off; people usually praise my designs. ^_^
